Catalina is one of the roses I bought and planted in May 2008. It's a new variety. I bought it at a nursery that was having a buy-two-get-one-free sale, and Catalina was my distant third choice as the freebie. I look back on that ranking and just shake my head, because it's become one of my very favorite roses. It has grown in leaps and bounds. It has what I consider the perfect flower conformation. The petal count, the way they lie, the shading from peach to pink... it's a beautiful, beautiful rose. Its scent isn't super-strong, but it is quite noticable and pleasing.
