I placed an order for spring delivery of eight own-root banded roses. I ordered off the internet from a nursery that got good reports. Double Delight was my choice for a multi-colored rose (I got one of each color with this order). I already had French Perfume, which is very similar in look and smell, but... It's a look and a smell I really really like. The French Perfume bush out back isn't in the best of shape, either. It grew very oddly and half of it is dead. It still produces knockout blooms, but still.
It arrived in March and was teeny tiny. I didn't expect them to be so small. But I planted them. Double Delight is positioned across from Mardi Gras in the bed that used to have a hedge (I took out the hedge and widened the bed), in between Midas Touch and Sweet Afton. It's done decently well. It's still a very small plant, but it's had a number of gorgeous smelly flowers and I hope it will grow into a beautiful bush. It unfortunately is getting more shade than it would prefer. The jacaranda tree shades more than I realized.
