When the spring shipment of roses arrived at my local garden center, I browsed through them. One of the signs caught my eye: Julie Newmar. Supposedly a orangey-yellow rose with a rich old-rose smell, and very disease resistant. They didn't have any in stock that time or the next three times I was there. I finally asked about it one day. The woman helping me told me about another branch of their center that was three times as big, and she could call them to see if they had it. I was intrigued, since I didn't know about that other place, and said sure. So I drove over there, had the rose on hold, and got to explore another garden center. (The first woman who helped me is interested in getting it for her own garden.)
