Julie Newmar Hybrid Tea 2010

julie newmar, first look April 2010
I got this rose on a whim without having seen it or smelled it. So now that this first bud is opening, I'm excited to see what it's going to be like!

I've been waiting for this flower to open for quite a while... it took its own sweet time! I got this rose sight unseen and smell unknown. I was a bit worried when it only formed one bud - this one - and didn't show any sign of new growth. However, it is now showing signs of new growth, and I'm delighted with the color and smell! It was described as an orange/yellow blend. I like that so far it's on the yellow side, though I'm guessing it will darken in warmer weather.

The pink edging is pretty. The whole rose is pretty! :)

Loving this rose! It was a whim purchase sight unseen, but I'm really happy with it.

I love this particular blend and it's got a fabulous smell.

I still adore this rose, and am so happy every time a bud starts opening.

I really really love the way this rose opens up... the way the petals lie and ruffle. And the gold-yellow is just awesome. And it smells wonderful, too! :)
old and new July 2010
Same cluster of Julie Newmar flowers, a few days further on. The first one to open has turned fully orange with yellow highlights (instead of the other way around).

It's been really hot the last several days, so the roses are blooming faster and going through the stages faster.
