I placed an order for spring delivery of eight own-root banded roses. I ordered off the internet from a nursery that got good reports. I got one of every color. This is the red one I chose, and there really wasn't much debate about it. I knew it was a gorgeous deep red and I knew it smelled fantastic.
It arrived in March and was teeny tiny. I didn't expect them to be so small. But I planted them. Mr. Lincoln is next to the jasmine arch across from Neptune and next to Sweet Afton. It's done fairly well so far, at only a slightly slower pace than Sweet Afton.
